Xmas Pressie Dilemma

Wife is looking to get me something for Chrimbo and suggested a new razor.

I've got a EJ DE87 which she bought for my birthday, a birthyear Slim Adjustable and I picked up an Alu Tech from Steve.

I did try the pass around Fatboy - which I found nicer that the Slim

Any suggestions from the group as to what might be worth looking at? Either new or vintage. Silly money razors are out of the equation though.

Ever Ready 1912? Super Speed? Maybe a Merkur 34C or other Merkur? All excellent and not too expensive. Maybe even a Merkur Slant if you want something a bit different. None should be more than £40 plus delivery

Well, think you found the answer yourself Otherwise the US Aristo, or some superspeed or rocket. New/Modern razors I couldn't give you advice though, so I'll let the other give those suggestions

Agree with NTS and suggest you try a Merkur, either the 34C HD or a heavy slant bar like the 39C.

Cheers chaps - after some deliberation, I've decided on the Merkur 34C HD.

Go with what started the whole trip! A Gillette '04. You can still find nice ones at a reasonable price. Go for the gusto, get the 1st one.
(the silver plated ones are really nice!)

How about an open comb razor? They cost around £20.00
