I'm not even sure I liked the look of it.

I am assuming these are hard to come by!

Gosh, like Dr. Dolittle's "PushmePullyou" I've never seen anything like it in my life, thanks for posting the link. Just shows what natural selection can evolve in2.

You have to remember, then - as now, the market was dominated by Gillette (probably 85-90% of the market then), Schick/Wilkinson Sword took up about 5-10% so there's not a lot left for the rest of the manufacturers out there - maybe 10% tops for all of them... so yeah, it'd be pretty rare compared to the Gillette market (less rare compared to the Schick/WS market - but that's smaller in comparison to the Gillette market too)

My own bid on that razor was gazumped pretty damn early...

I recall reading somewhere that the Darwin Razors are indeed quite rare - tho i have seen one go for £25 recently .. i was sniped at the last second on that one.
Im guessing the fact its in freat condition and also in a fairly pristine case brings in the collectors with to much loose change and shoots the price way up.

Apparently it was the first fully stainless razor.../? 1920ish..

I was watching that one as well. Bowed out well before reached silly money. But they are nice looking razors and a bet really well made, i own a darwin straight that still has original scales and the gap between the wedge and end of blade when closing is less than a mill. So would the precison would exstend to their DE
