What made your day a good one

Braved the downtown crowds - estimated to be a million people next week - around the "Super Bowl City" as it was a beautiful day and friends spoke of beer and food.

The Super Bowl City turned out to be a bit of a bore so we ditched it and went for some chicken Shawarma at Oasis Grill. A classic stand-by for cheap, quick and good.

Do you ever do any work?

Top half of the roofing blew off our garden shed, TV mast and aerial snapped off and hanging by co axial cables, and I have to look at DB's glorious photos ! Felt sorry for myself until I thought of our countryfolk and the flooded disaster zone which is Cumbria. Suddenly it's a good day once again !

The shawarma wasn't very good :)

First proper day in my new job, and a good one. Helping adults with mental illnesses is going to be rewarding. I've helped them to write meal plans and shopping lists. I've escorted two on shopping trips and helped another with social skills. So I'm feeling rather pleased with myself. Time for a roast then off to Scouts and back for a nice cold beer.

Congrats Sean, hope it continues to go well.

Not working today. One of the guys asked if he could have some maths tuition so I've been printing off some basic maths worksheets. They get so many hours a day one to one and tomorrow he has time with me. I've printed off some pretty basic stuff. This guy has a mental illness, and from what he has said had big problems at school. So I'm excited for what tomorrow holds. Will be good to see what he can do and help him build on it. May well have to start at the very beginning. I may even get in and he may not even want to try. For me though it's just that chance to help, just that chance that you can help him with some basic skills. He's been brave enough to ask for the help so far play to him.

Great week client now wants to do a maths course. Boss is pleased said that I was doing great and bringing in so many skills. Also said that after a while they may well offer me a uni course in mental health.

Also booked in for a new tattoo. Been looking for a new lens for the SLT a 70-400 "super zoom". Just convincing swmbo I need a £1,500 lens to go !

Mrs is off the weekend and next week and all is great in the Saint household.

Might be a fairly small thing but I finally put my name down for a badger brush, a TSR Shavemac brush, a Raptor 3 Band. Tomorrow, 13th February, is my second anniversary of going traditional, and whilst I wanted to treat myself, I wasn't expecting to buy a brush just yet, let alone as good as a Shavemac. I have had a crap last year and it feels great to be finally getting the ball rolling on one.

Found a couple of bottles of home brewed wine from last summer that I'd forgotten about. Shame to let it go to waste, tip-e-toe. :)
