What are you listening to?

Just dropped in to check out what people are listening to. Some great tracks here, Scott Walker from the Walker Brothers, do like the lyrics in Jackie. I have never heard of Serge Gainsbourg-La Horse before but I like that track so will certainly look out for this for the mp3 player, same for the Mohawks, do like that 70's vibe.

Myself I have been listening to Talking Heads today, I also had the chance to listen to the Beatles, White Album. A bit experimental towards the end but interesting never the less. Enjoy! :D

I know The Beatles can be a bit like Marmite but I've always liked them, but The White Album to me is a hard listen in places.

Yes this would be true, the sound clips I didn't care too much for but then they got me thinking that the only people who recorded them would be taken to back to that time, no one else listening would have a connection. That said I found myself thinking of the possible places the sound clips came from, events/radio/tv/films. Who had recorded them and the state of their mind when they did it. I don't know if it was recorded around the time George Harrison lived at Kinfauns, but I got the feeling that it could of influenced some of the odd songs on that album. I pictured them all messing around there and for me this is what makes that album interesting.

This reminds me of old porn soundtracks :D

If you're into that sort of music you should check out Alex Puddu's 'The Golden Age of Danish Pornography'...

Good upload Frankie, thanks for sharing. :D

A good friend passed me a 4gb pen drive with 40 odd albums of Jimmy McGriff after I told him I liked some of those great 70's instrumental soul/funk tracks.

While there is some great 70's instrumentals amongst them, there is only so much Hammond organ and Jimmy you can McGriff. That said this is one of the many nice tracks, enjoy! :D
