What are you listening to?

I go to see TSOM most years (still). I missed last year for obvious reasons. The Leeds warm-up gigs (as Near Meth Experience) are always a good time.

Back in my teens, I think TSOM were my favourite band with ASF coming in second. While money was tight and any spare was spent on booze and other things, the records that you actually bought reflect favourites. Otherwise, I liked a lot of "drum machine bands from Leeds" ... like March Violets, Cassandra Complex, even Utah Saints (who Von Eldritch actually sang for live once or twice).

I still love the music, still love turning up to gigs of old favourites and seeing the same crowd growing old disgracefully.
I saw a rerun of TOTP from 1990 and Sisters of Mercy we’re on there doing “More”.
Fantastic song, I loved it. Reminded me of David Bowie song “Putting out Fire (Gasoline)”.
So I’ve been listening to the Atomic Blonde soundtrack to hear Bowie again.
Incidentally, how do I attach YouTube clips on here?

I was of the 1984/1985 line-up era and it took a long time to accept Eldo on his tod after that. The 'Floodland' era was without any touring, so the next time we saw them was the 'Vision Thing' era. Good to have Leeds lad (well, Huddersfield lad) Tim Brechino on guitar giving back some of what Gary Marx took with him when he left (1983?). Good rocky line-up, that 'More' era.

In hindsight, 'Floodland' was majestic! Magnum Opus.
