Had a drink tonight, but it was only 'cooking lager' and only 'cause it was my kid brother's 40th.

Well I'm on a homebrew kit lager, but I pepped it up buy using dry malt extract, boiling it with extra hops and chucking some more hops in with it while it fermented (dry hopping).

We've just finished a whiskey tour of southern Scotland! Put all our single malts on a map of Scotland and worked our way around the south. Very good evening had by all.

Bronchitis has just about gone so am celebrating with a bottle of Thornbridge Halcyon followed by a few fingers of Bowmore Legend and Jameson Special Reserve.

I can offer you no 'Jilly Goulden' style tasting notes about the whiskies, just that they taste 'right nice'.
