Valobra

I read this thread and thought I would try some soap , I ordered a bar from Paul at Connaught which arrived the following day along with a ebonised oak bowl .
Very pleased I did , it is a superb lather with a very pleasant almondy smell .
Looks to be a favourite ,

If your doing a soft soap comparison, you want to try Cella.

I prefer this to Valobra. Not much in it but Cella just has the edge.

Monsavon, Cella, p160, valobra....

All fantastic.

P160 especially lathers with such a wide range of water content left in the brush, it's almost idiot proof.

Hiya,

After all these years I finally got around to trying the soft soap version. I've got an old Valobra stick, but I never use em. This large sample came from Benefactor Bob's vast arsenal of fine shaving crap.

Very nice using this stuff....extremely easy to lather, with a pleasantly subdued almond thingy going on. I much prefer this over the much more intensly scented Cello, since I'm not a huge marzipan fan.

Performance was fine, with plenty of slip and good cushion, and I can see why people enjoy using this product. It'll be in another of my SOTD set ups.

Valobra would be my desert island soap - if I had to pick just one. A seriously superb soap - almost impossible to go wrong with it.

How does Valobra - and Cella for that matter - compare with Vitos? I love how Vitos performs, even with my soft boar brush and lack of experience in lathering (except the missus ;-p )
