TOBS Mr Taylors and Eton College

Scotty, just seen the thread, I think this has been discussed before (but I am too lazy to search now...)

I have only Mr. T. and also St. James. Never tried Eton College.

They are nice scents, in the traditional British-style scent sense, Creightons-style lathering ability, moisturizing and efficacy. From the two above that I've tried I would say that the most old-fashioned one powdery, clean (scent-wise) is the Mr. T, the St. J is more for a younger audience. Don't think of something extreme though, and if you are among the people who like this type of scents, you can't go wrong with them.

i have these two.. but only as colognes... so i cant tell you if thats the same as the cream... but i'll give you my impressions:

-mr taylors: strong hit of pepper as it first goes on, with a woody cedar undernote. It dries down to a green smelling mix of wood and spice. Its a nice smell, quite old school.

-Eton College: this reminds me of penhaligons quercus. It has a very citrusy top note, settling down to something quite sweet and sharp but with spices through it. Many of the taylors fragrances have very similar base notes, but the top notes always change. IN the taylors its the pepper and cedar at the top, in the eton college its the citrus and sweetness at the top.

Whether the colognes match up to the creams, i have absolutely no idea. I'm keen to try either of them, and will get to it eventually.

what what its worth.. i'd say buy the tubs...

they sell the tubs for only £1 more than the tubes, and their tubs are the cheapest ive ever seen taylors being sold. They also have a 15% discount on till tomorrow i believe.

The reason i say the tubs is, ive found the tubs to have a better consistency of cream than the tubes. Whether through intention (to make it easier to squeeze) or by accident, but the tubs seem to have a thicker consistency, and in my experience, i've been disappointed with the two tubes i've had so far. That said, their tubes on badgerandhone are still very very cheap too :)

Ladies & Gents,

As many of you know, we had a few teething problems with the website in our first week. This has now been sorted, but there are a few people who missed out on our 15% off launch offer.

It is for that reason that we have decided to extend it for another week, as well as offering in to the other shaving forums.

The new discount code is:

GA65SWA3

had a wee peek.. looks like they only have eton and mr taylor in tubes anyway :(

might be worth a punt, with discount and free shipping, they are cheap as chips.

or if you can find the pots cheap enough somewhere, i'd recommend it
