The missus is gonna kill me . . . (Razor porn now inside)

Bugger bugger bugger bugger.

Won a bid for what I thought was an #16 Aristocrat. . . . .

It arrived this morning, and on closer inspection is a #21 in a #16 box. It's in NOS condition, and with a bit of cleaning to remove rust deposits from the blade which has been sat in there for 10 years will be amazing.

It really is a thing of beauty.

The plan was to resell it to the yanks for £££ but I can't bear to see it go

Bugger bugger bugger bugger.

Pics to follow.

I don't suppose anyone has a case for a #21 kicking about - willing to swap for a case for a #16 :)

Hi there,

Yeah, I can see you not being able to sell the thing. It's gotta be one of the nicest looking razors out there, and I actually prefer that model over the #16 far as looks go.

I've never shaved with a #21, but I have a feeling it would be similar to the US made later model Aristocrat types that I enjoy. It might be just a tad more aggressive, but probably not much if any. I think the #21 would fit me pretty well.

I'll use my #16 as a change of pace razor, but not for more than 2-3 days in a row. As you know, that thing is pretty heavy, and the weight adds to the aggressiveness a little more than I like. It would be a great razor for people who enjoyed something with a little more bite to it.

If you do end up selling the #21, us dumb Yanks will still pay serious cash for a beautiful razor, even knowing it's in the wrong box. Heh, I hope that makes you feel better........

Looking forward to seeing the pics,

Martin

As promised, here's the pics.

The rust deposits inside the head are from a blade which was left in there for several years. I'm slowly working it off.

I may sell it if a financial crisis arises, but have no plans to at the mo. Just out of interest, what are you boys in the US likely to pay for an item of beauty?

That case is ok for that razor cos i've got three in the same type of case to yours. It's the same as the Australian set for the Aristocrat No 21 on Mr Razor's site, with the blade box under the razor.

Nice, very nice.

The plating is in really good condition, I would look out for a case but don't get hung up on it because they are rare and I have seen people paying a fair whack for an empty case.

Use it and enjoy it.

Probs the best bet is just to carefully wrap it up in bubbley wrap & post it off to me soonest Blk Knight. This is a challenge which may require an exceptionally long period of time to deal with. Just send it on & i'll get back to you........................presently !

(Is it true that once a King always a King however oncey a (K)night is enough ?

The case is fairly grungey, what's the best stuff to clean up the metallic outside?

i have a 30's Aristocrat, it had a horrible case that was dirty worn etc, i applied a little "Autosol" and rubbed gently and it came up a treat
