Tech date codes

Gentlemen!today I had a look at my tech,it has "U2" engraved at the back of the safety bar,going by standard gillette datecodes F is 1960 so is U 1975?surely that can't be right,I thought techs were made decades before that?

Remember that the date codes originally ran from about 1930 with A (and some large gaps due to minor inconveniences like the war)... then they went round again starting with A again in about 1955...

Looks like a 60s alu handled Tech according to 'the bible' :
