Talcum Powder As An After Shave

Aha, Spirit jnr's next Varsity...

One suggestion on TSD (an excellent forum by the way...unlike er...) is to unfold a hankie, put some on, tie said hankie in a knot and dab it on. (Hmmm!) Replenish every couple of weeks or so.

For my debut I had some in my (dry) hands and patted it on very sparingly.

Be careful that you don't overdo it!

The classic gents' barber Fusco's in Glasgow used to have a kinda tin jar with talc (coulda been french chalk for all I know) into which the barber flicked a fine haired whisk type brush (I'm sure that it was horsehair U/Hermit) & then dust across the freshly shaven jowls of the hard men clad in their best "tony" complete with spit & polished ox blood red shoes. So, as Mrs. Beaton could have written had she been into shaving ........ first pluck your horsehairs.

STOP PRESS: On this Diamond Edge link is a bottle of American Bay Rum (500ml) for less than a fiver.

Not for me, but some rave about it...
