you can simply take each as a separate entity and have none of it based upon the others.

example being, when car companies "test" for mileage they tweek the engine and transmission, fuel ratio, tire pressure, so much that it has no meaning.

actually soft/hard/cream really wouldn't be an issue onceyou had a standardized way of determining how much soap had been sucked up by the brush.

You could weigh the brush dry then weigh the brush wet after shaking enough water off before loading the brush with soap and weigh the brush again and hey presto you have the amount of soap in the brush, it seems rather time consuming though.
