Superthins: Where do you buy yours?

I've been looking for some Gillette super thin as they're mentioned here a lot. Found some on eBay but they're from Thailand in Thai packaging.

Are these kosher? If not, where do you buy your super thins, and in fact where do you buy your DE blades in general?

I've had some nice 7 o'clocks off the bay and I've bought some single packs of other blades from Shaving Shack, but it's nice to know where you all get your stashes from.

Best thing to do is keep an eye on the Razor blade threads, any good deals that are found are usually posted there by members.
 
I've got them from RB73's first link a few times and I know others have as well.
Never heard of any problems with him. He usually does the thai ones , but I've never
been able to tell a difference between the thai and vietnamese ones ,I use both.

So the ones from Connaught are not as good as the ones you get from eBay? I ordered some from Connaught, is all.

Might have to try the ones from Thailand, then.

I couldnt possibly comment. I have both types in three differing types of packaging (all bought off the bay from different sellers - one UK, one China and the last set from Thailand). All perform equally as far as I am concerned.
Price wise there doesnt seem to be a lot in it - the 120 I got from Thailand cost me £12 odd with postage, I see they are £15.60 for the same quantity from Connaught.

And thank you for the kind offer Father Ted, I'd appreciate a PIF of a blade or two but only if you are passing a post office in the next week or two... please don't go out of your way. I'm in no massive rush as I'm still trying some other blades, it's a long learning curve.
 
I dunno, I get 3 days from them. Almost on a par with Gillette Yellows, but not quite.
What I would give my right testicle for* is some UK |Wilkinsons - they did last and last (for me).



*removed in 1999 and probably in a jar pathology at the UTH Manchester. :lol:

This place claims to be selling UK Wilkinsons, but looking at the picture I very much doubt they are. I have ordered some Crown blades from the USA which are reputed to be made on the old UK Wilkinson machinery and be almost identical to the old UK ones.
A trawl of apocathery shops within the Preston area finds that where they are not selling Personnas (probably bought from Tesco) their stock of Wilkinsons are the German ones.
I have 4 UK Wilkinsons left. Im saving them for a rainy day.
 
I've never tried UK Wilkinsons and I didn't think I'd ever tried the Swedes that everyone reminiscent about but my Gillette bleues from rareup on the bay have the Stockholm address listed on the back (I've read the story that they were never actually produced in Sweden but they will always be stuck with this nomenclature). Does the presence of that address make them one of the legendary Swedes?
