Hello all

Just spotted this...

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BARBER-CUTTHROAT-RAZOR-200-SUPERMAX-RAZOR-BLADES-/290529766725?pt=UK_Health_HairRemoval_RL&hash=item43a4ec6d45" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BARBER-CUTTHROAT- ... 43a4ec6d45</a><!-- m -->

Are supermax a good blade or is this a waste of money?
I thought with it having a shavette included (will eventually go the CT road  ) it was worth a purchase.

But if they are not good blades then I won't bother.

Cheers
Jon

LOL - It was 600 for £12 I think... but this includes a shavette.

That was my thinking, it was the shavette that made me wonder if it was worth getting them. :?

Were you after a shavette? If so, or if you fancy trying one, this looks like an outstanding offer. Personally I dont like the blades but each to his own..if you buy it, you have to report back.......

No idea what that shavette is like and he'll end up with 199 blades nobody will buy.

Without getting into the whole shavette verses straight debate. For those that use them the the X20 seems to be a favorite and you can get them for about £7 on uk ebay.

Then you have to find a blade that suits, buying 200 of a blade you haven't tried is not the way to go. Grab a sample pack as you would with a D.E. razor.

I have been very impressed with the Supermax 'stainless' blades I got IIRC I got 200 for 2 quid something,
and about 60p to get them to my door.
But I have a found/made up this razor that loves them and the tesco blades.

Its got a Velvet top plate and handle and the bottom plate from a Personna.
Using this frankinshave they can plough thru anything I leave growing,
and TBH I am a very lazy shaver only doing so 3 or 4 times a week.

With this setup they (the Supermax 'stainless' blades) are unbelievable I can get away with one pass and no problems, irritation or redness at all.
I am using it over my long handled super adjustable with 7o'clocks because it seems to give a better shave and in half the time.

Had a go with the Supermax blade in my 34c HD.

Nice!
Comfortable close shave.
Just ordered the 200 + Shavette for £8.99.

The shavettes alone go for around £4.00-5.00 so I would say I'm getting 200 blades for £5.00.
Working out about 2.5p / blade.

And the collection of blades begins.

:D

Try emailing Paul at Connaught as he is a forum member or better still ask him to put you a sample pack together so you don't buy too many blades you don't like.
