Sources of single edge blades

You can also get PAL, Treet, Personna's. I get a much better shave & a longer lasting blade from the GEM stainless PTFE coated. These are also known as Ted Pella's , http://www.tedpella.com/dissect_html/di ... hor1606431. These are the same blade that Paul sells.

These are the Personna GEMS. They are not quite as good as the Pella's & they do not last as long. http://www.personna.com/personna/blades ... es-5-pack/

On eBay there are a number of sellers offering SE blades very cheaply. I assume these are for scraper tools and not shaving? I'm just about to place an order for 100 blades and thought I'd ask before placing an order with Paul. ;)

The E-bay blades are just as sharp (i think :? ?) just that they are carbon steel not Stainless so will rust if left wet in the Razor.....
will leave it to someone that knows for sure to answer

Arrh OK I assumed half a DE was the same as the SE used in razors.

Interesting though, those(GEM) SE blades are the same blades I use at work.
I'm a microscopist, we get them from AGAR Scientific.

Also interesting is that Feather are the Ted Pella's preferred choice of blades for
vibrating blade microtomes, must be pretty sharp then!

Can anybody a recommend a razor to hold SE blades?

Hi Duffer.

Up until a week or so ago a single edge was the only type of razor I hadn't tried over the last half century. Then Over5' (nice guy) let me have an Ever Ready single edge travel razor. It really is a sweet & close shave. I'm guessing that a standard Ever Ready SE will give just as nice a result. (& forget the horror stories which seem to abound about converting the ole physog into a red ruin with just one pass with an SE). Michael Over5 sent some complimentary GEM bladees with the razsor & I've ordered another 100 from the shop which dare not say its name. As a brand they're working excellently for me.

Enjoy & Happy Daze m8.

An Ever-Ready or Gem 1912 as cheap as chips on the Bay and a great shaver.

the "Star" branded 1912 is the same patent methinks.
