I have to agree, efficiently outstanding and smooth, the Karve for the price to performance ratio is hard to beat.

Our journey home from Ayrshire took 7 hours due to the A66 being closed for roadworks. I ndeed to unwind - a hot bath and a shave did the trick.

I realised I had used my 6C exclusively recently so decided to use my R41 for a bit of a change.
One word - Effortless . . .

+1 on the Gillette Guard..Enjoy your holiday.
Monday 10th September ... and the start of two weeks on Malta

L'Oreal Men Shave Revolution Glide Gel
Gillette Guard (1)
Selin Cologne

Slick, shaved and ready to go out for the evening.

Have a great holiday - Malta is a fab place; if you get the chance the Scottish Bar in St Julians, the Scotsman is a great laugh

Cheers guys! Will do ... we've been here a few times now and know the drill, so to speak, but there's new things to discover every time we come. Great place! Just looking forward to chilling out.

That L'Oreal is curious stuff. It's a slippery gel. Brushless. Kinda works but feels a bit rough afterwards. Being a gel, post-shave feel is soft for quite a good while. Not convinced, but it's adequate for travel. Mind you, so is a little brush and a tube of shave cream.

...how are you finding the Karve on a "D" plate?

Monday 10th September 2018

Pre shave: Warm shower and Bulldog face wash
Razor: Razorock Mamba
Blade: NOS Gillette Stainless - Czech Republic (#2)
Soap: Taylors of Old Bond Street - Jermyn Street cream
Brush: Plisson pure badger
Bowl: Korium
Post shave: Alum block, cold water splash and Thayer's Cucumber witch hazel
AS: Lab Series balm

2nd shave with the Czech stainless blade and still liking the blade very much.

Monday 10th September PM

Prep: Warm rinse with Bulldog Face Wash then Proraso Pre Shave cream Eucalyptus and Menthol
Soap: Wickham English Rose (sample)
Brush: Executive Shaving Medium Jock synthetic
Razor: Gillette Fatboy (pass around)
Blade: Feather Platinum (1)
Post: Cold rinse, Thayers Witch Hazel with Cucumber followed by Boots Freshwood aftershave then LEA aftershave balm.

A current thread about rose scented cream reminded me that I had a sample of Wickham English Rose soap kindly gifted in a purchase from ShaveDash (hope the website is up a running again soon! [emoji1360]).

I took a small amount of the soap, pressed it onto the bottom of my bowl and off I went. A very thirsty soap with plenty of water being added. After a few minutes a lovely creamy lather was formed, with the pleasant smell of rose filling the room. It's very sweet, some might say sickly, but I think it's reasonable. I'm a big kid who loves Fry's Turkish Delight and this is exactly how it smells (minus the chocolate obviously!).

Lots of lather, lots of brushing and lots fun (big kid coming out again!).

I changed to a Feather blade this evening and set the Fatboy to setting 4, as this seems to be working for me.

A 2 pass shave and I'm well happy. Once WTG and the second ATG.

A BBS finish with me again feeling like there was no blade in the razor during the second pass.

After finishing up I splashed on some Thayers followed by Boots Freshwood aftershave and finishing with LEA balm. No burn at all, just that really fresh cold feeling across my face and neck. Superb.

Today's learning - the Fatboy razor is brilliant, setting 4 appears to be ideal for me. The Feather blade is good in this razor but not as good as a 7 O'clock Super Stainless. Wickham English Rose is okay....it gives a good lather with nice slickness but the scent might not be to everyone's taste....it's okay in small doses. And finally, but most importantly - I love DE shaving!

Have a great night folks! [emoji482]
