Prep: Hot Shower with L'Occitaine Cade soap
Blade: Feather #1
Razor: The General (On Loan)
Soap: Mikes Natural Soaps "Lilly of the Valley"
Bowl: Steve Woodhead
Brush: Maseto 26mm Silvertip Barber Handle
Post: Thayers Witch Hazel & PS for men Post shave Moisturiser.
EDT: L'Occitaine Cade
First shave ever using the General and indeed an injector razor. My initial thoughts was the concern of the size of the head. To my surprise it was more manageable than I imagined. The weight is heavy but care must be taken with the handle that could become a little slippery. I would like to see some Knurling in it.
The blade is sharp. Sharp enough to give me a small nick to the chin but sorted with some Alum.
A 3 pass shave DBS.
This is the first time I have used Mikes Natural soap and to be honest I do not like the scent and I feel I did not "Dial" it in properly. In order to give the General a chance I am going to use a soap I know and am fond of for the next shave using this razor.
The soap gave me loads of lather but the slickness was not there for me.
The brush and dish combo are fantastic. I had lather everywhere using the painting technique with the Brush.
The witch hazel is fantastic stuff and I am quite impressed with the "PS for Men" post shave Moisturiser. Available from Primark for £3.00. It really is an excellent bang for buck product.
Finishing off with the wonderful L'Occitaine Cade I am good to go.
Looking forward to my next shave with this razor.
Have a lovely evening.
Wayne.
