SOTD : Saturday 27th January - Friday 2nd February 2018.

Wednesday's SOTD

Pre-shave - Warm shower, Wright's Cold Tar Soap face wash, warm water splash, followed by Proraso (Green) pre-shave cream.
Razor - Blackland Sabre L1.
Blade - GEM PTFE (Day 2).
Soap - Poraso Soap (Green).
Brush - Simpsons Chubby 2 - Synthetic.
Post shave - Cold Water Splash, followed by OSP Eucalyptus and Menthol.

I was in a mad late rush this morning, needed a good safe shave - cue the Sabre L1.

A very good, one pass with touch ups DFS shave, very pleased with the result.

I find setting "7" is the sweet spot for me also Kevin.

A friend lend me a few old teutonic bakelite DE safety razors to try for the next weeks and the first one I chose was this gorgeous Fasan Double Slant. It was a very nice experience. The light weight gave it an agility that enabled me to do some fancy techniques (j-hook) on the chin and neck with great results. Due to the extreme torsion of the blade the angle of the head/handle to the face is a bit different than usual. The handle must be almost parallel with the face for optimal angle of the shave. Overall a great shaving experience.
 
Are they discontinued? If so I should have asked for a better price P.
