Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: M&F Brad Sears L7 Tigris Finest Badger
Soap: Acqua Di Parma
Razor: ATT SE1 / UFO Tornado
Blade: Schick Proline P-30 (5)
Post: Thursday Plantation Tea Tree & Witch Hazel, CRSW Alcohol-Free American Barbershop Moisturising Aftershave
Scent: Acqua Di Parma Colonia

The ADP is one of my firmer croaps, so the backbone of the Tigris was perfect for both loading and lathering.
Top shelf performance - very comfortable three passes for a BBS result.

Jayaruh No 67 Syn.
Tabac Soap
King Cobra
Kai Captain Mild Pink [ 4 ]
Tabac A/S Lotion

The still quite new to me King Cobra is much lighter than the ATT SE1, and I felt more confident while using it. The shave went quite well smooth and comfortable , though I got over zealous when working ATG and was rewarded with a weeper, my first one in an age. The quality of the finish was pretty good, probably my best shave with the KC so far , will look forward to going back to a Proline after a few more Shaves.

PreShave: Warm water, from the tap
Cream: TOBS Platinum Collection
Brush: Kent BK8
Bowl: My recycled cream bowl
Razor: The Sledgehammer (Merkur 39C)
Blade Gillette Sputnik (4)
Post Shave: Alum

Fragrance: Floris 71/72

Trying the blades I bought last year. The Sputnik is ok, a bit rougher than its cousins, Polsilver and Nacet. Nevertheless, it left my face feeling smooth afterwards.

Have a good weekend, folks.

Razor: Giesen & Forsthoff Timor Blue Steel 6/8
Brush: Semogue Boar
Soap: P&B Star Noir
EDT: Laurelle Locked

I really am enjoying using this razor. It keeps a lovely edge and is so smooth. The brush on the other hand is taking an age to break in and disappointed a little.
I still managed a nice lather from the P&B.
Smooth, refreshed and looking forward to the rugby.
Enjoy your shaves! :)

Credit where credit is due. That is a stunning razor you have there Billy. Beautiful scales and the silver work is top of the tree. I am yet to use a square point but that is my next step.

Razor : Fatip Grande Gentile
Blade : Derby extra
Brush : Omega
Shaving soap : De Vergulde Hand extra fris (De Vergulde Hand extra fresh)
Alum : De Vergulde Hand
Aftershave : Denim Original
Bowl : De Vergulde Hand, somewhere from the eighties ;)

The razor, blade and brush need no introduction I guess ;)
De Vergulde Hand extra fresh didn't really lather nice in my regular bowl, some kind of soup bowl.
I still had my porcelain / ceramic De Vergulde Hand bowl although it's a little damaged as you can see. The extra fresh really latherd good in this (small) bowl. Maybe because of it's size, but I needed less water then in my other bowl.
Sizes of the De Vergulde Hand bowl :
Top out / inside :9,8 / 9 cm
Height : 4,5 cm
Bottom outside 8,8 / 6,6 (approx)

And for this evening my theme was 'A cracking good shave'

20190223_171647.jpg

A cracking good razor - Colonial General
A cracking good blade - Kai Captain
A cracking good brush - Muhle Butterscotch
A cracking good cream - Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet
A cracking good scent - Pashana Bay Rum
A cracking good sink - Curtosy of my stupidity

Mix a cracking good cream with a cracking good brush and apply to face. Remove using a cracking good razor and viola....one cracking good shave and smoother than my old cracking bottom.

Apply Bay Rum to wet showered hair and walk out the shower room feeling heavenly refreshed and wonderful. Cracking!

Cracked sink to be replaced next week.

Round off with a cracking brilliant song

Schick adjustable shave:

  • Schick M adjustable
  • Chick (4)
  • Truefitt & Hill Almond cream
  • Vulfix 404
  • Post - Proraso white
For the last week, I have been experimenting with the Schick adjustable courtesy of the lending pool. I love the long handle. I normally use a shorter handled razor. To be honest I'm struggling to zone in with this razor. Have tried low settings and built up, but couldn't get a close shave. So tried higher, and went higher again, and had a really rough shave. Guessing its a technique thing. Will go to about 7 and lower for the second pass. Plus I don't use/own any adjustables so that may be a factor too.

Having said that, it's a great piece of engineering. As always, I'm grateful for pass rounds, & I will perceiver!

Had a lot of fond memories today for a very close friend who is no longer around:
