Well I received my new Rockwell 6S this morning and gave it a test run just now.

Rockwell 6S (R4)
ExS Bay Rum Cream
Omega Boar Brush
Astra SP blade (1)
Myrsol Emulsion
Le Piere Luciene Bay Rum Splash

3 days growth and this little combination worked very well. A massive difference from my EJDE89 and Derby blade.
I usually suffer from slight irritation around the neck but I'm pleased to report that I'm irritation free this evening.
So I'm now going to relax with a nice bottle of Vintage Henry Westons Cider.

Have a great rest of the weekend and stay safe.

Happy Saturday all! Today's shave I wanted to be a little special because you really have to enjoy what you have while you have it because tomorrow we really don't know what's coming. Gillette Delta Echo Slim - Cubano Edition is a thing of beauty and a fitting update to a vintage 1964 razor. I also have a stock 64 which is just as good a shaver but this guy is really Guapo!

Decided to crack open a new pack of Super Blue Blades today. I am lucky to have three of these NOS packs still wrapped so I figured I would try them out. Well wouldn't you know the razor is a J3 and the blades a J4! Now that is pretty awesome fortune in my book!

Soap of the the day was the mighty Tabac with the matching splash. There are those who love it and those who don't I live in the first camp. Great soap and scent for me.

Three pass BBS shave achieved. Now there was a little more work involved but the blades being almost 56 years old held up admirably. They aren't Kai sharp but they held their own and really it was just cool from a vintage perspective to use them! Added a squirt of Guerlain Oud Essentiel and wow! Pretty wonderful Saturday shave indeed.

Stay safe and enjoy your shaves.

Decided to have a really relaxed Shave by using what I knew would easily deliver one. Today the Shave with the Hiram was very smooth and comfortable, and the finish excellent as at last I got it to work very effectively around the neck and jawline.

Greetings,

Maiden shave with the frankensoap recipe 2 .The verdict?... Out of the two recipes i've used so far this one is my favourite mainly because the recipe consists of more traditional shaving soap, than bar soap, which lathered up in short space of time, remaining stable without dissapating on my proving a great slickness & protection for each pass leaving a good adequate post shave feel without drying my skin out .The soap has a green yellow,& white marbling smooth texture, scent wise, to my nose it has a 'citrusy-lemon-medicinal fragrance' of which i personally like.

Another great frankensoap which i will add to my soap rotation in future shaves.

I have a third recipe that i'll be combining together later for my next shave which consists of 75g grated palmolive classic shave stick + 50g of grated dettol original anti bacterial bar soap.

I've only shaved with the ming shi 3000s 4-5 times since i received it from my siblings as a 2019 christmas present along with my Yaqi 26mm Rainbow Brown Synthetic.(Faux Horse).

The 3000s has a good weight to it, slightly top heavy but nothing that makes the shave feel uncomfortable in any way the most important aspect with it ,as with any razor is, it has no concerning safety issues which will cause injury to me when shaving.

I'll be trueful and say that the 3000s is my mildest adjustable razor especially with the lower settings, if i used the same settings with my 2000s has i have today it would have been 'very noticeably more efficient'.

All in all though, once i skip the milder settings on my 3000s i get the same satisfactory comfortable shaving results set at 5 or above as i would with 2000s at it's lower settings...Having said that, i don't compare any of my razors as i like shaving with all of them, each one has it's own individual Characteristics some are better than others granted, but each one gives a acceptable shave in it's own right... If i was over concerned about the lower settings issue i could always try a feather blade in it, or if i was in need for a aggressive razor i'd use my muhle r41 or gem micromatic o.c but like the vast majority of traditional wet shavers i don't always need a aggressive/efficient razor each time i shave.

what i do like about the 3000s is it's mildness i can buff over my awkward areas without causing any irritation to my skin.

The polisiver SI today was a great match mowing through the remaining stubble from yesterday effortlessly leaving my face silky smooth again.

Another enjoyable 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

Please note that i have 'Rhino's Arse skin type ' and consider myself fortunate that i haven't had any adverse reaction to my skin with the shaving soaps or creams that i've shaven with to date...i wouldn't advise people with sensitive skin to try these recipes, without first looking at the soaps ingredients or doing a test to see if has a reaction to your skin before you use it for the full shave.

Sorry for the short novella, and my babbling waffle readers.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of Aloe Vera Gel.

My face is feeling silky smooth & smelling divine. ;)

Stay safe and enjoy your sunday ladies & gentlemen.
