Pre shave: Prep
Razor: Barbaros TR-1
Blade: Treet Black Beauty
Brush: ‘Il Cinghiale' (Zenith EURO/RX)
Soap: Skullbuster: Kumbaya
Post: Cold water rinse / Witch Hazel / L'Occitane Cade After Shave Balm

decided to throw caution to the wind with this shave, and try the TR-1 with a Black Beauty, and.... despite the fact that I've used blades that were far worse, and the shave was actually quite good, it's not one I'll be reaching for often..

Friday.
Prep: Hot towel
Pre shave: Prep
Razor: ‘The Rock' (Rockwell 6S – #3)
Blade: Gillette Bleue Extra
Brush: 'The Duke' (Duke 3 Best)
Soap: Shannon's "Lit"
Post: Cold water rinse / Witch Hazel / Chatillon Lux Santal Auster Post-Shave Salve

OK, I'll hold my hands up, and admit to the fact that I'd totally forgotten how good Shannon's regular base is... having been super impressed with their Rust Belt Reserve offering, which really is outstanding, I was keen to revisit "Lit", and colour me chuffed, what a fantastic lather.... and with the Gillette Bleue Extra getting better with every shave, I was rewarded with a totally sublime shave... HELL YEAH!!

My first use of a Barrister & Mann soap and I'm very impressed indeed. It's easy to dial in, plenty of cushion, plenty of slickness and v.good post shave.
I like the scent too, when lathered the rosemary becomes more evident and I've now got a hankering for loin chops.
Using DEs for five days in a row is probably four days too many but it makes me appreciate a fine SE even more.
My skin's, soft, smooth, and smelling medicinal.
Happy Shaving one and all.

Friday

Santa Maria Novella Tabacco Toscana
Semogue 1470
Face lather
Ever Ready 1912 Streamline
Gem SS PTFE
Thayer's Cucumber and Aloe Vera
Alt-Innsbruck EdC
Santa Maria Novella Vetiver EdC

Another outstanding shave from my favourite vintage SE. 2 days of whiskers hewn down effortlessly but ‘toastily', for those that know the acoustic qualities of the 1912 ancestry.

Cool menthol burn from the Alt-Innsbruck and a couple of spritz of SMV's Vetiver cologne. My eldest daughter is taking me to an evening of music by Vivaldi and Bach in town tonight.

All's well.

Moss Anniversary Slate scuttle
Rooney Stubby 3XL Ivory Finest (2 ring) (30/52)
Penhaligon's English Fern shaving soap (tallow)
RazoRock Mamba/Triad Spiral Titanium
Personna 74 Tungsten (8)
Penhaligon's English Fern aftershave (vintage)
An especially good shave. The brush has very firm backbone and slight scritch, reminding me of vintage Simpson Manchurians. The soap is marvelous.

Fri 22nd June
Omega 11126
Speick Active Soap
Schick E2- Canada
Schick Proline ( 8 )
Pitralon Original A/S lotion

This E2 is milder than its US cousin, but it it is still very aggressive when compared with later Schicks.Today I had to work quite hard to get a close finish and suspect the blade was past its best, though I suffered no mishap or post Shave problems.
