DE89 head on iKon OSS handle
Perma Sharp Super blade
T&H Ultimate Comfort cream
Razorock Bruce brush
Barts Balm Lime oil ASB

First shave back with the DE89 after a good 6 weeks with an iKon OC. Fancied a quick one day growth freshen up (normally shave every other day) late last night before an early start today. Thought I'd try a heavier handle on the DE89 and I much prefer it to the stock one. Really smooth 2 pass shave (WTG, XTG) with J-hooking touch ups on lower cheeks, with minimal irritation.

Am prioritising comfort over closeness now, it takes my face days to recover after an ATG pass, from the weepers, bumps & irritation I get. That's after decent prep, good lather, and seems to happen regardless of razor, blade, angle, etc. Maybe a 2 pass shave is all I really need, especially if I shave daily more often. . . .

Riveting as always, Iain. The acronym has me intrigued!
Looking forward to the next chapter.

Prep: the usual hot shower, plus the Boss's exfoliation thingy (must get my own, goodness only knows what she scrubs last vs what I scrub first...)
Pre: nothing, forgot my usual hot flannel for some reason.
Cream: OSP Fougere, face lathered.
Brush: MÜHLE Vivo black fibre
SR: Merkur 23c
Blade: Feather (1)
Post: Nivea sensitive balm

First shave with a Feather. I was a bit apprehensive given what I've read about them, and I was pretty underwhelmed tbh. Perhaps it was because I missed out my hot flannel, or because my face might still have been a bit sensitive from Sundays "a shave too far".

First pass didn't feel as nice as the blades I've tried before, and the 2nd & 3rd passes weren't much better. The result was actually a smooth finish, but just not as enjoyable as I've been experiencing using Gillette Silver Blues and Polsilver.

I'm going to give the Feather a fair go next shave, given that I missed out my usual flannel stage and possible residual irritation. I'm going to rest my face for a couple of days, and make sure I do the flannel thing.

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Rooney 1/3 Super Silvertip Badger
Soap: Proraso White
Razor:Pils 101NE
Blade: Vintage NOS Personna P74 Tungsten Steel (4)
Post: CRSW Alcohol-Free American Barbershop Moisturising Aftershave
Scent: Hermes Bel Ami (sample)

Love at first use with the Rooney Brush. Very soft tips, and the knot splays beautifully, making it ideal for face lathering.
Was also impressed with the Proraso White soap. Easy to lather, and it performed very well.
Three passes for a DFS.
Finished with a sample of Hermes Bel Ami EdT, courtesy of the generous @Barry Giddens. A chypre with influences of patchouli and Russian leather, a trait shared with Knize Ten. The Hermes is a more contemporary fragrance; both lighter and fresher than Knize Ten. Very nice indeed.

Hot water prep
Tobs sandalwood cream
Plisson brush
Rockwell 6c
Astra sp (1)
Barts balm Amber and Moroccan Jasmine balm and matching as lotion.

First shave with the Rockwell and on R4 plate it's a cracker. Instant favourite. Had to check it had a blade in it a few times. Super smooth 3 pass bbs. Incredible.

I was pretty confident that you would like the Bel Ami Tom. Thanks for the mention.
