Solvol Autosol

Hi guys I was cleaning up a couple of razors that I have and decided to Dremel them with the wire brush attachment.

I have found that it doesn’t take a lot to get a burn mark in the razor when trying to clean out rust so I tried an experiment and used Solvol Autosol as a polish/lubricant and it seemed to work fine for me.

It also helped when going between the scales at the tang as I could see where the brush was touching as it was removing the polish. It also left quite a nice finish considering that it was a wire brush doing the work.

I was just wondering if anybody else had tried this.

I use it all the time for polishing my razors and motorbikes it’s the first time I used it with the wire wheel. I was pleasantly surprised that it cleaned the rust out without the usual burn marks.

I love this stuff

I found it as good as autosol if not better

Is it smooth or does it contain a fine abrasive in it. I have been using autosol for the last 25yrs so it would have to be very good to get me to covert.

It's smooth. The straight razor guys probably have better ideas though. ;)
