Soap in a cup

Thanks to another member here (RB73), I now have half a puck of Floris JF soap.

I want to put it in a cup and was wondering what is the best way to do this, if there is a best way?

Grate it and pat it down?

Push it into the cup?

Warm it up and mould it into the cup? (If warming whats the best way? Heat the cup with water?)

I pass mine through a parmesan grater and then press down hard all the way around with my thumbs.
Glycerine soaps can of course be melted.
