Soap for shower/bath

Never given much thought to the soap I use. These days I just grab a packet of 4 palmolive bars from my 99p store. I got fed up with the Simple soap my wife buys.

So what sort of soap might be a treat for the new year? Don't want to go mad but I'm happy to pay more for some decent soap.

I've bought Body Shop soaps before, and they were nice and not too pricey. Lots of scents to choose from.

Floris soaps are really nice.

However, I would additionally buy at least a puck of Sharon's soap (her soap is so 'clean', fresh scented and ultra-friendly to the human skin) and likewise a puck of Steve's lanolin bath soap (his soap offers really nice moisturizing).

I hate to say it, but those trendies at Lush do a great line in bath/shower gear.

D R Harris almond oil bath soap. Pricey but you can often pick it up cheaply on eBay. Lasts ages and smells great.

I've just got some lush soap. It's quite nice. I find it doesn't last as long as a normal soap bar though.

Ho ho ho - Nanny's Christmas soap with real gold, frankincense and myrrh. Lovely stuff, so I bought half a dozen bars. Nesti Dante is also good, a bit pricey at around £4 a go, but that's a big chunk of soap. The clove and ivy one nice, whilst the tomato version smells alarmingly like a greenhouse full of ripening tomatoes. Available from garden centres.

+1 on the Nanny's. Bought a bar of the French Lavender the other day to match the hard shaving soap. Fresh clean scent.

Imperial Leather - Cheap as chips.
Mitchells Wool Fat - Yup, they do bath and hand soaps.
Penhaligons English Fern - Again, a bath version of the shaving soap.
