I've done a little polishing using very fine wet and dry along with metal polish with good results in the past, you can only get so far with polish on its own but a good effort for a first try. :After seeing comments on a related post by another member, I opted to pick up a tube of Peek and a first attempt by hand. Turned better than I thought it would, and not too shabby all things considered I think.

Apparently tomato ketchup can take the razor back to its original (pre-patina) colour as well. I've yet to try it.
Yes, place the brass parts in a glass and cover completely in ketchup, leave for a few hours and then wash off. Not magic but it will look cleaner and less tarnished.Apparently tomato ketchup can take the razor back to its original (pre-patina) colour as well. I've yet to try it.
Ketchup definitely works.Yes, place the brass parts in a glass and cover completely in ketchup, leave for a few hours and then wash off. Not magic but it will look cleaner and less tarnished.
Yes - Brasso and kitchen roll to be precise. That looks amazing.
Was that just Brasso wadding and a soft cloth on the General?
Impressive.
There is a new metal polish sold under the Jay Leno brand that, it is claimed, polishes and restores metals without being abrasive, keep meaning to try it out.
I'm afraid not LeeThey look great, I’m tempted to clean my Hone but I do like the patina it’s built up. Don’t suppose they are being polished and cleaned up to head into the emporium are they?
I think this may be the Jay Leno polish here:That looks amazing.
