Back to the Stainless Mongoose with a Proguard on this occasion. Nice performance although not quite to the Professional standard

Gem Coated, #1 Shave.
Arko Soap Stick (straight to face, no brush).
Barts Ben Cruachan (Lime) Balm.

My first shave with this razor.
Very, very smooth shaver.
Elevated to my no.1 razor spot, I think!
Noticeably heavier than my chrome one
with the aluminium handle.

I did bleed: my fault because I didn't
lift / stretch my konk up far enough
when shaving under it....
The very last bit I shave....

Lovely to see the 1907 in action! Vastly underrated ... just a simple curve of metal with the minimal amount of fuss to hold the blade in place. Every part of it is pure function.

My last scrape of 2021 and with the GEM blade right at my personal sweet-spot of 5 shaves in, what better than a pure and simple, functional lather catcher: the 1907.

With a thick shim under the blade, a spine taken from a vintage blade and maybe double the thickness of a modern spine, it was a wonderful shave! I took my time and really enjoyed two passes, one with and one against the grain; each pass taken in one without rinsing the razor and making full use of that spacious curve which gives it it's name: the lather catcher.

Used the Claymore Evolution today, will be nice eventually to try it with a greater variety of blades.Could then possibly be my best AC/SE Razor.
