This is an interesting site. Just look at the brush details. Most striking is the variation in measurements of specific brushes held in stock here. And the variations in brush head shape of the same model.

Yes, I saw that the other day and thought it´s very strange with so big differences within a line of highly priced items. But it´s clearly so, if you look at the pics.

If the handles are hand turned then differences must be expected.
I pointed this out recently to a client who wants a brush in the PJ style.
I sent him 3 photographs of the PJ2 to look at,,all were noticeably different.
Not such a bad thing mind you as it gives your Simpson that unique touch.

I wouldn´t mind the handles to be slightly different, but the bristels should be uniform and in a good way.

There's a thread on B&B about Simpsons' variation, particularly the move towards bulb knots. Some may find it interesting:

It seems they are looking to address various QC issues.

I do find it odd that even on their own site, they still show Somerset brushes which is false advertising.

Was in Trumper's recently and saw a Vulfix-made Polo 14 with a very short loft (Chubby-style) - nothing like the Somerset 14 I have. Getting difficult to find long badger hair? Or deliberately shorter to be more handy? Whatever the reason (and it was a nice brush in its own right), way off the original spec. Then the extreme-bulb and even pointy shapes referred to........C'mon Vulfix!
