Scent Free Aftershave Splash?

Is there such a thing as an aftershave splash with no scent?

I ask because now that I have learned to use a splash properly I am rather keen on their effect, but some of the scents leave little to be desired.

I was planning on finding and using a scent free splash, and then using one of my edc or edt's to make me smell irresistable.

D.R. Harris Pink is almost scent free, but it's also almost alcohol free, so doesn't qualify, and I'm not a massive fan of menthol.

I supposed the 'home-brew' route is one option, but I'm esentially quite lazy and would prefer to just buy one.

Any thoughts?

Presumably you could just use alcohol ?

I suppose you could, but most aftershaves also contain water, castor oil and/or glycerin. I think they're normally about 60% alcohol.

Somebody mentioned Vodka, but I wouldn't fancy walking into work smelling of that.

Not a splash but I found this:

Balms are not really a problem. The Nivea and the Clinique balms have either no scent or a very weak and quicky fading scent, but I'm leaning towards splashes.

Basically, Old Spice without the scent would be perfect.

The search continues!

Ian, perhaps Trumper's Extract of West Indian Limes aftershave might make a good compromise?

Most reviewers of it on basenotes testify to its fleeting character -- around 5 mins. I've tried a sample and agree: it really doesn't last long (on my skin). But its inital fresh burst of lime really is wonderful. Just a thought.

(I may have just talked myself into buying a travel bottle of this stuff  )

 I've also read about that this morning. Might be an option.

I've also looked up some homebrew a/s recipes, and lots of them use Vodka!

You could try this mix at home...

two thirds witch hazel
one third distilled, or clean bottled water.

then add up to one drop of essential oils per mil of witch hazel.
Example, to make 100ml home made aftershave.

65ml witch hazel
35ml pure water

20 drops lavender essential oil
20 drops geranium essential oil
25 drops eucalyptus essential oil.

obviously if you don't like lavender or eucalyptus, then change the essential oils to suit yourself, but don't add more than the percentages stated or the oils won't dissipate through the witch hazel base, and then can lead to a skin infection. The one drop per mil is a maximum, if you have sensitive skin drop it down to one drop of essential oil per two mils of witch hazel.

Nice one Prof. I was thinking about potentially putting together a "Home brew" AS but to date have been too busy / lazy to look for a "receipe"!
