An Italian luxury shaving cream, with hard texture (soft soap) that comes from the same factory as Proraso.

1. Packaging / size / appearance:

Large 220ml plastic tub, will last for ages, texture is same like Proraso (green) tub, reportedly ingredients are more or less the same with the exception that lanolin has been added (though I stand to be corrected on that as I do not have an ingredients list for either product). To be honest I do not even remember if the tub came in a cardboard/paper box and even if it did I have thrown it away (for transportation purposes, as I got the cream in the U.S.)

2. Price / availability: This cream is very expensive. It retails at $52 in the U.S. but I hear it can be found much cheaper in Italy (around Eur 25 but this is not confirmed). There are some SMN shops around Europe, including one in London, but I do not know price levels at this stage. Some wet shavers have expressed their concerns that it does not offer 'value-for-money' as it is very close to the appearance, scent and performance of 'green' Proraso tub, which is available practically everywhere and for almost a tenth of the price.

3. Scent: Eucalyptus with mint elements as well. Very Proraso-like, don't expect any surprises here.

4. Efficacy / Lather-ability: Very good. Lathers very well and offers good cushion and thick lather which will not dry out easily; a little goes a long way as well.

5. Moisturizing properties: Very good, seems (at least to the undersigned) this is very good and kind to the skin. Leaves skin soft and fresh after a shave, lanolin helps a lot here.

6. Quality / overall: A high quality / luxury shaving (hard) cream that does a very good job on the skin. A product that should be in your rotation if you would be willing to bear the admittedly high price tag.

Summary - N_Architect's verdict:

1. Packaging / size / appearance: 3/5
2. Price / availability: 2/5
3. Scent: 3/5
4. Efficacy / Latherability: 4/5
5. Moisturizing poperties: 4/5
6. Quality / overall: 4/5 - Recommended.

Nice review K.

Some may look on Proraso as a cheaper version of SMN being though it is younger. (marketing hype i know)

This is as far as i can get with finding what's in it (This formula, enriched with coconut oil, menthol, eucalyptus, and camphor is perfect for all skin types).

Anyone in/near or visiting London can walk in and pick up from here, strange they don't sell it online.
