Finally worked out the sweet spot for this soap. I wouldn't normally persevere but it smells amazing.

Razor Henckels 14 Guillermo Hoppe full hollow 7/8
Strop Kanayama Cordovan #8000
Brush Semogue OC special 2012 Boar & Badger mix
Soap L'Occitane Cade
Alum & Withch Hazel
L'Occitane Baux balm
Scent Tom Ford Black Orchid EDP.

The Henckels 14 Guillermo Hoppe delivered a beautiful smooth shave, this great looking razor doesn't belong to me It belongs to a fellow forum member and good friend friend Huw, It came in for honing during the week and It's going back out on Tuesday, you could say perks of the Job.:)

Jamie,

Lovely. Roll on Tuesday! :)

ER 1912 (USA) - Small Handle
GEM PTFE (3)
Palmolive/Erasmic soap mix + Maca Root Cream
Shaving.ie 24 mm Silvertip
Prof. Blighty's Coal Tar Balsam

A very nice shave from this great little razor. The smaller handle makes the 1912 easier to manoeuvre, resulting in an easy BBS.

The Prof's Coal Tar balsam is growing on me as well. The initial application gives a real "hit" of scent that seems a bit strong for me, but it very quickly mellows to an almost addictive aroma. Definitely a "masculine" scent.

Prep: Village Barber Oil
Soap: Stirling Orange Chill
Brush: NF Tubby 1
Razor: UFO U2/Weber DLC
Post: L'Occitane Baux/444

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

ebony brush made by Brian
'Webly'/Sheffield Super Stainless (NOS)
1946-47 Aristo/Filomatic Titanio (NOS)
DR Harris Marlborough SC
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
Laroche 'Drakkar Noir' EdT (vintage juice)

Started out with the new to me Sheffield (made in the US) blade and it was not bad. Finished last two passes with the already loaded Aristo/Titanio and whew......better. Also revisited DR Harris creams after many years and that stuff is still very nice! One of my favorite creams before I stopped using most of em. This will go into the rotation once again. If y'all like how Cade smells, you will probably enjoy the Marlborough scent a good bit.

BBS results,

Martin

Bic 1 Sensitive ...

Superb shave. I prefer this Bic disposable to any other cartridge and disposable razor.

Until I found the Gillette Guard, I would absolutely have agreed. Have you tried one?

Still, 10 for a quid, the Bic 1 is near on impossible to beat.
No, not yet! But I've still got so many Mach3 and Sensor cartridges to work my way through that the Guard is a little way off.

For a hurried shave, though, the Bic is spot on.

Sunday

Evening, all.

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: EJ DE89
Blade: Green Gillette (2)
Brush: Ecotools Kabuki
Shave soap: Kell's Aloe and Hemp, Energy
Aftershave: Homemade Kölnisch Wasser splash
Cologne: Acqua di Parma Colonia

Lovely, refreshing shave.

Bulldog Face Wash
Arko Stick (Grated)
Kent Infinity Silvertex
Valet VC1 (Gold) - Valet (Vintage) [3]
Hot Rinse, Cold Rinse, Alum Wash & Witch Hazel (Mentholated)
Imperial Leather (Vintage Juice)

Face Lathered
Two Pass - WTG & ATG

Third run with this vintage blade and it's still smooth and still as capable as the second run, but I think I'll retire it now ...

Fun!
