Thursday...wetter than a haddock's codpiece

Soap - Phoenix and Beau Star Noir
Brush - Semogue 1520
Face lather
Razor - English aluminium Gillette Tech 1968
Blade - Gillette 7 o' Clock Yellow #1
Post - Thayer's and Floïd MV
Smell - Guerlain Vetiver EdT (applied after photo)

In the time it took me to list the above, the rain's turning to sleet/snow. Anyhoo...

Repetition sets in again, but vintage Gillettes really are the canine's dangleberries, imo. The Star Noir is now behaving after leaving the lid off to dry for a day or two after use. My 1520, sadly, has started to lose a wee bit of paint, but still performs really well (and I can't complain as I received it free gratis after it was mistakenly sent in lieu of the 1470).

Great shave and post-shave feel. I spritzed the Guerlain Vetiver as I associate it with Spring (irony alert; as he looks out window).

Be safe, warm and dry, everyone.

I had the same problem Pat. Leaving the lid off helped; and it slightly lessened the ammonia smell that seemed to plague early batches.

P&B Star Noir and Floid are a great combo! Also, it's bizarrely dry down here in Wales! Positively unheard of...

Edit: I assumed you were talking about the weather... if it's you who is wetter than a haddock's codpiece, it might just be TMIT (Too much information Thursday)!

Had a most unsatisfactory Shave yesterday with the normally dependable Merkur Progress. Must have been operator error, as with a waning blade had a really smooth and comfortable shave with the PB. The lather from this soap is very slick, and enabled me with this agile little razor to complete easily the polishing up strokes needed to deliver a truly good all round shave.

Mastro Livi Damasteel Ladder, 6/8 Full Hollow, French Point

Today's shave has been a combination of very good elements and gave me a luxury and very satisfactory shave. Starting from the very good soap made by Aguzzeria del Cavallo (it seems they are not making this soap anymore, what a pity) a classic Italian almond scented soap giving a stable and very effective lather. I guess this was also thanks to the Mastro Livi super silvertip badger brush, a champion in mounting lather to perfection. Not to mention the straight razor. I really like the ladder Damasteel of this razor's blade, a sort of mesmerizing pattern perfectly matching to the pattern of buckeye burl scales. The razor gave me a super smooth shave and the icing on the cake was the refreshing and invigorating effect of my Bay Rum, made from real pimenta racemosa leaves and real dark rum.

Roses are red, Hones are brass, my face is as smooth as a newborns ass...

Great shave today, without doubt my best shave with the Faena soap, the Hone is coming into its own lately. Loving my shaves with it.

Glad you are feeling better. I've just come down with another cold myself, just can't shake them off.

Great scuttle. Who made it?

Wishing you a very swift full recovery

Thanks buddy. I'm absolutely fine now, just a crap last week!

Thanks re the scuttle, funnily enough, the person that made is actually requested me NOT to post the maker because they are so busy with their other pottery works and they could do without any more scuttle orders lol
