S.O.T.D. Saturday 13th May to Friday 19th May 2017

Thursday's shave -

Pre-shave - Warm shower, Wright's Coal Tar Soap followed by Village Barbour Shave Oil.
Razor - ATT SE1, Bamboo handle.
Blade - Kai Captain Titan Mild (Pink) (day 2).
Soap - Gentleman's Groom Room Essence of Scotland Sweet Gale Traditional Shaving Soap.
Brush - Simpsons Chubby 2 - Best Badger.
Post shave - Cold water splash, followed by DH Harris Skin Tonic and Organic Aloe Vera.

Very good, close comfortable shave with the ATT SE1 - two passes, no fuss. Not quite as good a shave as yesterday's, in terms of closeness - don't know why, other than using a shave oil the set up was exactly the same and I can't see the performance of the Kai blade dropping off significantly after 1 day's use...

Feeling more comfortable with the ATT SE1.

On a separate note, I have decided to splurge out on a OneBlade razor, which will be the last purchase for a while, honest!

Have a great day.

Chris

Totally agree Arthur re the Semogue 620, great brush !

Face wash - Cien Soap
Razor - DE89
Blade - Voskhod (5)
Soap - Nivea Sensitive Shaving Cream
Brush - Omega 80265
Passes - WTG, XTG (2)
Post Shave - cold water
After Shave - Nivea Cool Balm

Produced a truly wonderful lather today with the Nivea Shave Cream and I was somewhat perplexed to why I rarely ever use shaving creams, maybe as I quite the load up stage with a hard soap.

Pretty underwhelming shave though no nicks but not the closest, not sure if it was down to bad technique or if I was directed by reading about the death of Chris Cornell (I was a teenage grunger)

Myrsol Emulsion
Semogue 830
Eufros Tobacco Spanish Shavers Special Edition
Asylum RX
Feather Pro
Thayers Rose Petal
Williams Aqua Velva

And finally on the 5th shave with the Asylum RX everything came together and I achieved a close yet very comfortable and irritation-free shave! And the reason was the Feather Pro. Definitely the Kai Mild with the Asylum don't pair very nice for me. But the Feather Pro was very nice with my skin, very sharp and efficient, and no need for touch ups after my third passage so no razor burn. Let's see if the Schick Proline performs as good next week.

Brush: Omega 10015
Razor: Gibbs No 16 w/ Voskhod (2)
Soap: Palmolive Shave Stick (grated)
Post: Boots Tea Tree Witch Hazel, Nivea 2 Phase & Pecksniffs Men Professional

Second day with a cold water shave but the boiler is fixed now so back to warm water tomorrow! I can see novelty in cold water but prefer warm water. Always amazed with Palmolive as its performance, makes me wonder why we bother getting all those fancy soaps when a humble 50p stick can out perform many. Then I go online and end up ordering a new soap (undecided on which Meissner scent!)....

Palmolive sticks are a wonder!.Palmolive classic was my first shaving soap The performance ,Price & post shave are second to non.. Fantastically Superb.

First shaves with the Rockwell 6c, plate 5. Very capable on both beard and head shave. Plenty enough weight, indeed user error led to a couple of weepers on my head, lighter touch required next time. I prefer the handling of a lighter razor but this a killer value.
