S.O.T.D. Saturday 11th Febuary to Friday 17th Febuary 2017

That looks a solid, classic set-up.

Saturday's shave

Pre-shave - Warm shower, Wright's Coal Tar Soap and Village Barber Shaving Oil.
Razor - Hone 15a (Black) - second use.
Blade - Astra SP (day 2).
Soap - OSP Eucalyptus Tea Tree Menthol.
Brush - Simpsons The Duke 2 Pure Badger Hair.
Post shave - OSP Eucalyptus Tea Tree Menthol Aftershave Tonic and organic aloe vera

Great shave, plenty of time this morning, went for a 4 pass shave.

Hone is a great razor - have not changed my mind after my first use yesterday. For me and I appreciate YMMV, I need more passes with the Hone, compared to the Muhle Rocca, or my ATT M1.

Have a good weekend.

I found the same with the hone untill I found a blade that worked with the razor and me. Try a few different blades with it and see if it improves.

Saturday 18th February 2017
Pre Shave: Hot Shower, Bulldog Face Wash and Proraso Red
Razor: Ikon El Jefe + SE handle
Blade: Feather Pro Guard (#3)
Brush: Semogue 610
Soap: Wickham 1912
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Thayers unscented
AS: 4711

Fantastic shave today!.

I had not used the Ikon El Jefe for a while and thought it was time to use it again, I also used the Wickham 1912 soap again today, and I am still very impressed. The end result was absolutely dolphin smooth, the only two minor issues were a tiny weeper under then chin, first weeper I have had using the El Jefe, and the Feather Pro Guard feels like it is tugging as I shaved.
