Hot shower
Hot flannel
DR Harris Marlborough soap scuttle lathered
Simpson Rover best badger brush
Gillette Canadian single ring
Lord Platinum (2)
Cold rinse
Thayers Lavender witch hazel
Myrsol F/extra aftershave

A close shave from the single ring. I decided 2 days is enough from this razor. I have to be careful as I could for see some irritation about to come on :s
I've a different razor and blade set up for tomorrow, I normally do 3 shaves with a blade before changing the blade and razor, this time 2. I like to keep re visiting the veteran single ring razors but not on an everyday basis.

Warm shower
Proraso pre, menthol
Simpson Colonel X2L, Nanny's soft soap, Tea Tree & Aloe Vera
Merkur Progress (#2), Perma-sharp (2)

Prep: FitjarSoap Pre Shave Soap
Razor: Edwin Jagger EJ DE89
Blade: Super Iridium (3)
Brush: Semogue 1305
Soap: Mike's Natural Bay Rum Soap
Aftershave: Taylor of Old Bond Street Bay Rum
Moisturiser: Fitjarsoap Shea Butter Moisturiser

I like Mike's. It is a challenge to lather correctly, and I usually fail at that. Today was no exception, but the beauty of it is that I still got a pretty good shave out of it.
Today's lather was a smidge too thin, and not that slick.

My razor commented on the lack of slickness and said it was like walking on a frozen lake in a foot of snow. It is difficult to move and sometimes you slip and miss a step.

The blade on the other hand made no complaints and mowed down the stubble like a field of grass on a hot summer's day. No wonder I get confused
But as long as the DFS is DF I will be a happy camper.

Afternoon, everyone.

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: EJ DE89 with Bulldog handle
Blade: Gillette 7o'clock yellow (3)
Brush: Ecotools Kabuki
Shave cream: RSC
A/S: Homebrew Imperial Leather
Cologne: Homebrew Imperial Leather

A good and easy shave. First try-out of the Imperial Leather-type splash I made using a fragrance oil -"Magnificent"- I bought from Scents from Heaven. Very good smell and it lingers nicely.
That fragrance oil is good isn't it? Magnificent in fact! :lD
I used mine today. Glad I added a small amount of menthol crystals just to round the whole thing off.

Progress on 2.5
Polsilver Super Iridium (2)
Turkish no. 6
C&E Sienna shaving soap
Magnificent Leather home brew a/s

Superb

Thursday night

Clinique soap
Feather Popular
Supermax Stainless
Semogue SOC boar
Proraso green tub
Proraso splash.

After the nightmare of Wednesday's shave I wasn't going to have a shave last night but decided against it. went for a nice smooth combo of razor and blade and got the old Proraso back out. Great comfortable, if not the cosest, shave and just what I needed after Wednesday. Having said that my skin still feels very dry for me and touch sore, even after using the cliniaue moisturiser.

Third shave with the Semogue boar in the last week since it got delivered and I'm really enjoying using it. I can see another one on the horizon, maybe one of their badgers and one of their cheaper boars.

This morning:

Progress on 3
Super-Max Super Platinum (3)
Nanny's Warm Spice
Coate's Fitzwilliam
Superdrug Forest Fresh A/S
Weleda ASB

3 passes and a great comfortable shave :icon_razz:

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Proraso preshave - sensitive
Soap: Sterling Black Cherry
Brush: Omega 10005 boar
Bowl: Woodhead Large Tall scuttle
Razor: Weber polished + Bulldog
Blade: Polsilver (2)
After: Aqua Velva Musk AS, Everyman Jack Lotion ASB

First time using the Black Cherry soap. The scent seemed to almost disappear after lathering which was disappointing but maybe the fact the it was only the second time using the Omega brush added a bit of piggy smell to it.

The lather never really got going properly and remained thin and lifeless; completely different to the Bay Rum variety which is my favourite soap of all. As a result even though the lather didn't actually collapse it didn't provide the cushioning I'd expect and I think led to a slightly disappointing shave.
Also I think my skin went a little red for an hour or so after the shave, so maybe a slight reaction to the soap.

DFS result and skin feel nicely conditioned, so not all bad. Another Sterling to try tomorrow :)
