Oh, almost forgot. Uncle Mikey, can I have that damn brush? Sheeesh, that thing is something. Don't recall seeing it before, or maybe I used selective amnesia to keep that monkey quiet.

In Memory of Béla Huppán "fonthunter"

  • Tea: Long Jing Tea (龍井茶)
  • Razor: Mastro Livi RWL-34, 9/8 Full Hollow, French Point

Blade just didn't feel very sharp - pulled a bit. OK result but not up to the usual standard.

Nice warm shower
NF Tubby 1 in 2-band
MWF (lather was actually thicker than that shown in the bowl)
Aesop bowl
ikon Open Comb
Speick ASL

Soap - Super Smooth - Garden Mint - Wickham Soap Co.
Brush - Czech & Speake Badger
Razor - Russian DE Adjustable
Blade - DE Wilkson Sword - New
AS - Tompion - Pecksniff's
Skin Care - Post-Shave Apricot Oil Balm - Wickham Soap Co.

1 Lather Mix : 3 Passes : BBS : Smelling Great!

Feather AC SS non-folding
Feather AC ProGuard (9)
Semogue BC Mistura
Stirling Anise
Lucky Tiger Face Tonic
Serge Lutens Serge Noire

Awful top notes to this Serge Noire - waiting patiently for the dry down.

Turkish no. 6 shaving brush
Vintage Cusson shaving stick grated into a bowl
Schick M adjustable on 5, 3
Schick Krona blade
Speick aftershave lotion

Very smooth, close and satisfying. Yesterday's shave with a Red Tip, Sharp Edge and Fume was close but very painful. I'd never noticed that the Fume didn't offer much protection so I need to revisit it tomorrow with a different razor and blade combo that I'm more comfortable and familiar with.

MRGLO
Rocket HD
Scottish Permasharp (4)
Palmolive/Erasmic mix + Balea Cream
Erasmic Boar
Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum

Always surprised by how well this mix of cheap sticks lathers. The VIBR gives such an amazing warming feeling on the face, after the initial burn, and smells reminiscent of cola bottle sweets!

Sunday:

Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5
L'Oreal something or other, blue gel full of lovely chemicals

Creed Orange Spice EDT

Today's moustache of fantasticness is being held in place with Captain Fawcett's Ylang Ylang Moustache Wax

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage butterscotch Simpsons best
'Webly'/Wilkinson Super Sword Edge (NOS)
Xpec SC
Malizia Vetyver AS
Caron 'Yatagan' EdT (modern juice)

Wanted to revisit this extremely old blade from the late 50s I believe. Used em a while back and thought they were better than usual at the time. Turns out I was correct......very nice shave with these. The dispenser is the dark gray one. Heh, the store's original hand written price tag of 47 cents is still on the pack.

Jeez, I am truly hooked on this Xpec stuff. I have used some nice creams like Pens and CF, but I think this stuff is at least as good as the CF and better than Pens. Plus, the scent is haunting and luscious. To my nose, it's what the C&S #88 frag aspires to be.

BBS results,

Martin

Preshave Edwin Jagger Hydrating cream
L'Occtaine Soap
De Puys 'Perfect' Razor
Myrsol Balm and A/S

A cheeky little razor not much more than 4/8" and you don't come across them very often.
