That was one effortless shave!

I had heavy stubble (for me), but the Max Sprecher razor cut through it without much fuss and the Rod Neep brush prepared the face together with Jabonmans soap and Neil Millers strops took the edge back on the razor :D

Another shave with the travel kit today. This is far superior to the Weishi that I was using, had a couple of days growth as I did not go out last night but managed a good BBS with my kit. The brush will have to be changed as it really lets down the rest of the kit.

Merkur 34c
Astra Blue
Lea creama lathered in a big coffee cup
W/S Cheapo brush
KoS ASB

Good to go.

If I were to say that my technique has improved massively in the last 7 months the one thing that I just noticed today for some reason is that my touch / feel has become very light indeed, especially for a big lad. I sense that I am offering the blade to my face rather than pushing the razor head against the skin, I hope that makes sense when read.

Prep: Hot shower, followed by Neutrogena Razor Defense Face Scrub
Pre: Village Barber oil
Soap: Stirling Soap "Ginger & Grapefruit" (test blend)
Brush: E&J Chatsworth Best Badger
Razor: E&J DE89 Chatsworth
Blade: Super-Max Super Platinum (1)
Post: Thayer's Lemon witch hazel

Amazing shave. Only 2.5 passes. First time using the Super-Max blade and I was amazed at how sharp but smooth it was. New soap blend was hard to load at first, but whipped up a very slick lather.

The New is just not for me. A very pretty razor but no matter how I use it (and I have tried), I always end up with irritation. Neck is a tad sore and bumpy as is my top lip - just can't get used to the darn thing so its gotta go. Everything else was fantastic.

Saturday

Nanny's French Lavender hard soap
Semogue SOC Boar
Aristocrat Junior
7 o'clock SharpEdge
T&H Trafalgar (the last drops, it's finished)

Another great shave.

Saturday

Prep : clinique face soap
Razor : ikon deluxe oc
Blade : shark ss
Brush : simpsons commodore x2
Cream : tobs avocado
Post shave : superdrug forest fresh

Through to the bottom of the tobs tub.

Nice shave, the ikon\shark ss combo is very comfortable. May need to try some other blades I had given up on

SATURDAY MORNING

Prep : Warm rinse
Razor : Kai Captain Excelia
Blade : Feather Professional
Brush : TSN Shavemac 2013
Soap : T&H 10 cream - bowl lathered
Post: Witch hazel & IK balm

Decent shave, though I think the blade might need replacing.

Not sure if it's just me, but these blades seem to have really varied life. I've had some that have done 20+ shaves, and some which have done around 7.

Maybe I did too many cuts (three) through the loo roll inner?
