Rhodium Plating

I believe I've heard that the guy at http://www.safetyrazors.co.uk/ does replaying, no idea if that includes rhodium though.

Dave at http://www.safetyrazors.co.uk doesn't do Rhodium, (well he didn't last year) as i enquired about getting a fatboy done.
only ones i know are in the USA razoremporium.com

Sebastian is the guy i mailed regarding something else but here is the mail address (sales@razoremporium.com)

I wanna a send a fatboy to get a new coat too (to the US) but I'm afraid of the customs... won't those idiots want me to pay for the razor? Or shall I tell them I sent it to repair? Has anyone did that alrady?

Ah, now theres an interesting thing.
Almost exactly the razor I want on that US website, and the cost of sending and returning my razor plus plating and refurb is pretty much the same.
If only I could be sure of not getting bummed for customs and import duty on the purchase.
I'll email and ask about the refurb (its only the head really).

Royal mails charge is quite good isn't it

i had to pay a charge today for a Gillette Blue Tip from USA, £4.00 for HMRC and Royal mail charged me £8.00 "Handling Fee" so basically charging £8.00 to pay £4.00 on my behalf...........ta very much

there again the company i work for makes its profit on "handling Charges". and the customers have no choice in the matter....

Heard back off the Razor Emporium - $60 for the head only all in. He has a whole razor for $100, so Im wondering if its worth sending the head off or just buying the whole shebang.
Obviously we are back to the being dry bummed by the post office for the "new" item as opposed to the "repaired" item which wont attract duty.
Im going to have a think as Im not sure how much longer rhodium would last compared with chrome plating.

You could ask at a gold smith, they put it over white gold (to get the shine, but it´s funny, since everyone with white gold stuff actiually displays Rhodium). You´ve got find someone with a big enough sink down container/bath though, but I´m pretty sure you could get it cheaper that way.
