Very nice. It's not like a traditional powdery/sweet barbershop scent. I get a bergamot note that's quickly followed by sandalwood. It offers something different in the barbershop space.Hows barber off the tub?
I'll let you know on the performance front after a few more shaves. Let's be honest though, it takes some work to get a bad soap these days. Most of the performance increases across new bases are probably all in the mind.Quick question: does this soap perform or do anything any better/differently than something you have tried before? Not trying to be snarky, just wondering as it is interesting.
P.S. Boycie, as a comparative measure you know my Old World "Gold Standard" is OSP soap. Never lets me down.
I entirely echo your thoughts on this. I have the Oasis and whilst on performance I wouldn't place it above the vast majority of soaps I have, scent wise it is definitely an exquisite fragrance for my olfactory sensors.Let's be honest though, it takes some work to get a bad soap these days. Most of the performance increases across new bases are probably all in the mind.
What these soaps do have are some beautiful scents that are different to the other offerings in my den.
...all of my soaps perform well enough, (I won't say equally). But it comes down more or less to how much you like the smell...
...Given how good a shave you can get from a Palmolive or Speick stick, or a dollop of Proraso sandalwood cream, it's almost a given that the extra cash goes on the enjoyment of the scent.
Yessiree, you have summed it up correctly. To go even further, some artisan soaps can be what I would call too slick in that it's far easier for the razor to "skip". Regardless, anyone who owns more than a few soaps is basically a scent collector.
...3P lathers quickly for me and arguably performs a bit better than this soap. This soap smells much nicer though. Is that enough to keep it in the den?...
