Recommend a beginner's straight razor for a DE shaver

I am a complete beginner to straight razor shaving, having used a DE up until now. I have decided that for 2011 I will attempt to learn to shave with a straight razor.

I would like to go vintage as all advice seems to lean towards vintage being better value for money than new. Can anyone offer advice on any classified ads or stock from <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.strop-shop.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">www.strop-shop.co.uk</a><!-- w --> or <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.theinvisibleedge.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">www.theinvisibleedge.co.uk</a><!-- w --> that is suitable for a beginner?

5/8 or 6/8 with a quarter to half hollow grind - I think that's what Neil advised me originally.

That's sound advice. What I tend to say is 5/8, carbon steel, full hollow, round point. Full and extra hollows are easiest to use to my mind, but a stiffer razor may well be better to learn with.
