Reasonable work shoes

I must admit that I've not read the whole thread, but here are two suggestions.

Re M&S: if you like the shoes order online for free delivery to your local store. Much easier than someone waiting in at home.

Wear your trainers/walking shoes to and from work, and keep your work shoes at work.

Hope that helps...

Those 5 fingers look a bit weird. Anyone tried them?

My mate doesn't wear shoes if he can avoid it and he has a pair of these. He says they are great, as close to barefoot walking without actually being barefoot.

Sorry to resurrect my thread only to take it slightly off topic, but I have both pairs of shoes (linked earlier on this thread). The brown Hush Puppies are great - comfortable I mean. The Solovairs feel like DMs that I remember but I still have that terrible foot pain from wearing them. One day, maybe four or five miles, quite a lot of pain. It's the built-in firmness of the soles, and possibly that unpronounceable medical condition, that's the problem. I want to wear them but after a second day with some added insoles I was in more pain. Today I have worn the Hush Puppies and although I still have foot pain it seems left over from the last two days. In total I've done two days in the Hush Puppies and approximately the same mileage.
I don't really want to endure this all the time and don't want to carry the shoes on the train to work each day to change into. I've ordered some memory foam insoles and some gel ones too. I hope these do the job. Can anyone give any advice?
I hope to wear again the Solovairs and some decent Clarks I've also only worn twice.

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't carry on wearing shoes that cause you pain thats for sure. Think longer term and try and get your feet sorted once and for all, maybe visit your GP and get a recommendation to an orthotic specialist. It'll affect your walk, gait, posture, alignment and eventually your long term health.

I'm in agreement with antdad and chrisbell. Your feet shouldn't be hurting that much. Get down the docs and get to see a specialist. It could just be a case of needing some specially shaped insoles to sort your feet out.

As others say, get to the docs and ask to be referred. The Solovairs will take a bit of breaking in but once done, they should be very comfy and long lasting. No point in hurting yourself with them just now though.

No amount of over the counter insoles will help, trust me go see the doc or a sports therapist to see if its plantar fasciitis, you may need the tendon stretching with some very painful massage, but it helps alot. Resting the bottom of your feet on something frozen wrapped in a teatowel will help, also very painful!
