I just watched 'High-Rise'. You missed a Gillette Fatboy or Slim about 55 minutes in. The main character briefly shaves dry and cuts himself.High-rise (2016)
A movie I rather wanted to like. A bit of a clock work orange feel to it but sadly it never came together for me.
I was bored out of my mind about 30-40 minutes into it.
Maybe the rest of the movie after that was great but I'll never know.
A 3/10.
Watched JASON BORNE on Tuesday night.
OK film. I wouldn't recommend anyone rush out to the cinema to see it. I loved the first three films.
Very much a 'film by numbers'. Just seemed to be trying to tick as many boxes as possible, apart from a decent scrip and storyline.
The chase at the end was ridiculous, in a good way though.
I just saw The Lobster on DVD. Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and starring Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz, it is the most bizarre film I have seen in many years. It had a 90% positive rating by critics on Rotten Tomatoes, but to me it was absolute rubbish. I laughed out loud a few times at its sheer strangeness, but otherwise I was completely uninvolved by any of the characters or the plot (what little of it that there was). The RT site says, "...For viewers with the fortitude to crack through Yorgos Lanthimos' offbeat sensibilities, it should prove a savory cinematic treat." Sorry, but I guess I lack the fortitude.
It is indeed a weird film
