Plenty of information, including photographic evidence, in this thread to answer your question: http://www.theshavingroom.co.uk/community/index.php?threads/are-these-fake-posilver-si.34885Hi all,
I've now had 2 shaves with different polsilver blades in different razors (fatip piccolo & EJ 89), and have subsequently had the 2 worst shaves I've had since transitioning to DE over 3 years ago. Irritation, burn and nicks like no other.
Now, I know YMMV but I've read so much praise for these and had such high hopes. Is it possible that I've bought a dodgy batch? Any way to tell if they're legit? These are significantly worse than anything I've ever used before. Maybe the blade just isn't for me.
I bought them from eBay but the seller had loads of positive feedback.
Any advice is appreciated
Cheers

Cheers for posting mate. Just read through the whole thread. Unfortunately I think I might be one of the very few who doesn't get on with the blades at all.
My blades look exactly the same as the 'proper' blades from that thread. Glue marks n all.
I'd do something totally different. New blade, maybe one you've used before and liked, for a week or so. See if it goes away. Then back to Pols and see if it happens again. I would still make the assumption that it's not the blade, until you've tried a few things.@Dansco - In terms of bad shaves, these 2 will be the bench mark by which all of my future 'bad shaves' are compared to. Nothing else changed in the routine. With regards to the sample size - I am going to open a new pack of 5 and try a blade from there in the hope that I was unlucky with a couple of bad blades. But if they give the same results then that's enough for me. A repeated neck/jaw full of razor bumps has got me very hesitant to continue past that mate.
@Donnie - I do have some Nacet's and Permasharps. I've not used either yet, but I was planning on using a Permasharp as soon as my skin calms down. Will see how I get on
