Please help to identify this Gillette Aristocrat.

My friend has this razor, which used to belong to his Father possibly Grandfather. We think it is most of a #16 set 1948 Gen3. The area of doubt is the "Pat pending" on the baseplate and not the 430.030 patent number.

Can you clarify/deny or add any info?

Having looked a bit further, a #70 should have a patent number and can probably be discounted, so it looks like a #22/#66 - mr-razor says the two are identical apart from the cases.
Do you know how much the razor weighs in grams? If it's in the 30's it will have an aluminium handle.
