Omega badger brushes

I think "Pure" is mean't as 100% in this case rather than the badger hair type.

It certainly looks like they use all types of badger hair.

Fido,I had an Omega silvertip for almost 9 years. It was my second brush after a Vie Long and it was really floppy and soft, perfect for creams terrible with hard soaps and shaving sticks. For the price it was good and I didnt know better at the time.

Most of the major names classify the various grades of badger hair they use. I guess the term "Pure" covers all types of their 100% badger brushes. Makes comparisons difficult! I think I'll get a relatively low cost one for my collection. Anyone any suggestions? And a link to a site I can buy it?

It's funny how many brush makers believe that they make the best brushes in the world! They must all be first equal.

I ordered an Omega 31064 from Connaught after reading a few reviews.

Blimey Fido - how many brushes do you own now?!

As I have explained, I am now a shaving brush collector. That means I don't have to make excuses for buying more brushes. I'm also researching the making of shaving brushes. I may even have a few made for sale to finance the collection. Come what may, I will have enough material for a shaving brush blog describing the collection and my adventures! I have over 30 now. Takes me back to the days I started my bell collection.........

Must find somewhere to put them. Can't stay like this:

Apart from anything else it is so interesting to have examples of the best on offer from all the well known/makers and brands. There is so much variation. It must partly reflect the varying preferences of individuals as well as variations in the quality achieved by different manufacturers. In my opinion, Simpson brushes are a class apart. Despite the fact that Rooney brushes may not still be made in the traditional place and way, many of their brushes are great performers. I really must get cracking on my blog.
