When it comes to sailing, I'm a wimp.
I sailed on a calm morning on my first trip to the Isle of Wight. We moored off Alum Bay and had lunch. Perfect. The wind got up late afternoon as we sailed back. Different story. I've never been out again. It's not for me.

Just been invited to book travel for 11 August 2012. I searched the official Olympic website for recommended travel plan. It comes up with a complicated way of getting to West Ham station from where it is a 29 minute walk to the Olympic stadium. No mention of either of the Stratford stations.
Do we have any locals who have any idea of why it seems I'm being advised to get no closer then West Ham? While I hope to be fit enough to still walk for half an hour to and from the stadium next year I'd rather get a bit closer by public transport if I can.
