Use SPERM!! ?? wtf.
I have few stones like that and I always fold a wet towel and place the stone on it and use like that or you can hold it and use that way.Nice stone.
I have what I think could be a charnley forest. Picked it up for 50p so not too worried if not that great.
my first question is... it comes in a box, loose fitting and not exactly stable, should I permanently fix it into the bottom of the box so that it is more robust and steady to use?
And should I use epoxy for that?
ThanksView attachment 29321
Looks like a Charnley, nice find. Epoxy should hold it in place depending how oil soaked the box is, you could mix some plaster in with the epoxy to increase it's filling ability if the stone is a very loose fit. Pitch or plaster of paris used to be the traditional way.
