well the time has come, I've finally reach the dawn of a new day.............lol

after being fed up of paying over the odds for razors, it was time to buy a 'proper' razor, I hope..... :)

my recent purchases are:

Parker 96r
Sample pack of blades from Connaught
Men-u shave cream - nice but doesn't lather up too much
old english Badger/ synthetic brush
Musgo Real Lime Glycerine Soap

must buy more though.....must buy more....!

can anyone recommend what to get next to create a good starter kit, I think I need a better brush but that can wait a bit, I am tempted to try other soaps/ creams, so it would be great if someone can recomend some.

thanks and I know I'll learn a lot.

Cheers to all, I expected loads of links, come on - cash waiting........ :)

Hi Judas

You will get plenty suggestions here. Some that just about everyone will agree with is Palmolive cream / shavesticks, very cheap andeasy to get hold of from the bigger supermarkets, and of course Tabac soap, probably the benchmark soap. Have a look here for good prices / free delivery; type in FREE.

Welcome by the way.
My favourite soap so far is the Crabtree and Evelyn soap. Lovely stuff.
Taylors of Old Bond Street do some nice creams aswell.

Hello Judas, never fear: we'll help you spend your pieces of silver. If your brush works, stick with it for a little while and check out the relevant board to find out what your choices are. Last time I looked, there were a couple of bargains on Buy Sell Trade, too.
