Ok, we are all guilty of spending a little too much time on the forums (myself included, although I'm trying to moderate my use more these days). This really takes the piss.

C'mon (B&B) guys, as much fun as this hobby is, it's just bloody shaving ferchristsakes! :shock:

I have trouble enough explaining to my other half why I look at shaving forums at all, let alone contribute.

Imagine if I told her I had become a "Steward"! :eek:

Imagine that as a chat up line - "Hey, I'm into wetshaving..." (mild interest).... "I got my info from the internet" (a bit unsure now....) "I participate in forum discussions about shaving".... (starts walking away)... "...hey, come back, I'm a Steward!!!" (starts running...)

I'm only a few weeks into DE shaving and B&B was the first forum I encountered.

I looked at some of the threads on there and was automatically filtering out the usual big American niche interest forum contributions (talking shit) and was learning a lot and thought it was ok.

Then I saw a 'today's shave' or 'look at all my stuff' thread with pictures of shaving gear with a gun carefully/artistically placed in the picture. I thought it was a one off but it wasn't. There were lots of pictures with guns or 'ammo' next to lathered badger brushes. It felt like the scene in 'Rosemary's Baby' when she realises that the nice old couple are Satanists!

I found this forum and haven't looked back.
Apart from the butterscotch brush porn thread ;-)

Hey, some of us silver surfers have to do something besides post patronising & incoherent remarks on TSR The Beanster . Some of my best friends are. well, erm, strange. :cry:

Self Moderation is a flagrant attempt to bypass the Moderators, which in turn totally negates our attempt to cultivate and reward our newly promoted Grasses.
