Short/small ones were for the purse, long ones for home use.Lady Gillette razors were originally the ones with the short handles. Same with the Personna family. Think also Souplex Nymph. Then, Gillette put a long handle onto the Lady Gillette around the same time the long handled Slim Twist/Knack came about.
They're probably a tenner I supermarkets too.
Sadly, it didn't take off the way Gillette were hoping.

i know i posted this but im tempted to get itseems to be the lowest price its ever been on amazon
@Paul L appreciate your post as i was going to get it but then im thinking i hardly use the de89s ive got, so part of me is like whats the point then as i thought maybe longer handle but then like you say its not very grippy

as i understand they were on amazon.com (USA) but currently unavailable at the moment,
any ideas where to source these from in uk/europe or just not available unless second hand?
i udnerstand the head is the same as king c gillette just different handle and a nice box instead of the cardboard box
